CONCEPT

This showcase venue, where high technology meets specialist expertise, located between the Faubourg Saint Honoré and the Tuileries Gardens, will feature a cross-cutting gallery on two levels, and a hidden restaurant serving creative cuisine.

HIP is Paris' first concept gallery and its latest hype venue.

What is the concept behind the Galerie Hip?
Simply put... to smash the elitist codes of the art market and gallery system, returning to the basic principles of aesthetic pleasure with scant concern for labelling styles and typologies, enabling all comers to enter the realm of beauty, whatever their financial situation, and create a space for encounter, discovery and exchange....

  1. ART

    Alain Courtaigne

In his former life as an architect, he committed projects designed by others to paper

He has become a sculptor today and works only with his own hands.
Like many of my contemporaries, he is alarmed by what mankind is doing to nature.

His work focuses on animals, landscapes and natural environments. It's his way of expressing his sense of marvel, in as childlike a way as possible — at an endangered world.

    Jaana Myöhänen

Jaana Myöhänen works with stone using direct cut sculpture,

She uses marble, serpentine, semi-precious stones and granite to study the relationship between materials in their raw state and polished materials — part of a constant quest for body, space and movement. The body becomes a pretext and movement becomes a creed.

These sculptures perfectly encapsulate the self-evident truth that beauty reigns supreme.

  2. DESIGN

    Borek Sipek

"Borek is Borek!" Confusing though this observation may seem, it truly captures the multidisciplinary work and stellar talent of Borek Sipek. This genius is fascinated by working with Bohemian crystal With his limited series, production pieces and one-off items, Borek Sipek will bring his talents to Galerie HIP and find here a presentation space worthy of his work, in the heart of Paris.

    Mark Brazier Jones

The path Mark Brazier Jones has pursued between art and design is a highly personal one, imbuing the utilitarian forms he designs with a veritable sculptor's touch. The instinctive sense of freedom the New Zealand native has retained from his childhood comes out strongly in his work — he happily admits to an inability to follow given fashions or movements.

    A + B

A+B use oil painted panels to create furniture.

Set on metallic feet the creations of Alina Czarnecka and Bruno Chavanne give birth to amazing colored tables, windscreens and other charming objects.

  3. JEWELS

    Hélène Courtaigne Delalande

Her jewels are a playful variation on themes of matte and brilliant gold. While her designs sometimes resemble the fruit of another era — mediaeval, pre-Columbian, antique or baroque — in her work from design to production she is guided exclusively by the inspiration of the moment.

    Laurence Oppermman

Laurence Oppermann's jewellery is characterised by its constant quest for forms, clean lines and mastery of forged and hammered metal. She designs one-offs and limited series of rings, necklaces and pendants.

    Jean Boggio

Jean Boggio's career in the jewellery world has been atypical. His inner world is inspired by the tales and legends which marked his childhood, resulting in a baroque style in which every creation resembles a little nursery rhyme.
